These Terms of Service govern your use of Carib Devs, a marketplace and community for Caribbean software developers. They’re written to be readable. By using the service, you agree to them — so please read them, and reach out if anything is unclear.
Acceptance of these terms
By accessing or using Carib Devs, you agree to be bound by these terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use Carib Devs. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate and your own.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account. Use a strong, unique password, and let us know promptly if you suspect any unauthorized access. You may not share your account or impersonate anyone else.
Acceptable use
Carib Devs includes community features such as profiles, forums, comments, and messaging. To keep them useful and safe, you agree not to: post spam or unsolicited promotions; harass, threaten, or abuse other people; post unlawful, hateful, or infringing content; scrape, overload, or attempt to break the service; or use the platform for any illegal purpose. We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these rules.
Your content
You own the content you post — your profile, projects, messages, and contributions stay yours. By posting, you grant Carib Devs a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute that content as needed to operate and promote the service. You are responsible for the content you share and confirm you have the rights to share it.
Profiles seeded from public data
Some developer profiles were created from publicly available GitHub data to seed the directory, and may not have been set up by the person they describe. If a profile is yours, you can claim it to take control, or request its removal at any time through our data removal page.
Marketplace conduct
Carib Devs helps developers and clients find each other, but any briefs, jobs, hiring arrangements, and contracts are strictly between the users involved. Carib Devs is not a party to those agreements, does not employ developers, and is not responsible for the quality, payment, legality, or outcome of any engagement arranged through the platform. Do your own due diligence before entering into any arrangement.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
Carib Devs is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Carib Devs and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of the service or from dealings between users.
Termination
You may stop using Carib Devs and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms or if we need to protect the service or its users. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — such as content licenses already granted and liability limitations — will continue to apply.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Jamaica, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the service will be subject to the courts of Jamaica.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product grows. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Carib Devs after changes take effect means you accept the revised terms. Questions? Reach us through our contact page.
